Deanna Webster

Dr. Deanna Webster, PhD, LSW has been in the field for over 26 years and has had a variety of experiences working in diverse settings and with a diversity of client populations as it relates to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and varied socioeconomic statuses. Dr. Webster’s experiences range from School Based Therapy and Social Work, to Foster Care, Long-term Care, Crisis Stabilization, Inpatient Psychiatric Acute Care Hospitals, PRTFs (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities) and Partial Day Hospitals. Within these settings, she has worked with a range of client types and diagnoses as a Play therapist, as a Clinician working across the life span, as well as with couples and families, and survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. She feels strongly, as a result of her Family Systems training, that the preservation of healthy family units, and providing them with the tools to be become stronger and more cohesive is of the upmost importance. This includes using a strength based approach while honoring and valuing the client’s cultural, religious and/or spiritual choices in the therapeutic relationship.

Dr. Webster has served in many leadership roles throughout her career with for- profit and non-profit entities and understands the larger impact of funding, the negative effects of stigmatizing those with mental health challenges, and how the lack of access to resources has impacted certain groups and their ability to get help for their mental health needs. She has and does serve on various boards to address the issue of mental health in our society and advocates for increased funding and resources to be utilized for behavioral health needs.

Dr. Deanna Webster currently serves as the Director of Inpatient Clinical Services for a Psychiatric Hospital in the State of Kansas.
