I am a licensed professional counselor committed to helping children and adolescents ages 3-18 learn how to better cope with and process a variety of life’s issues. My work focuses on collaborating with young clients and their caregivers to manage symptoms related to anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral issues, grief, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and adjustment disorders. I believe in taking an age-appropriate person-centered approach to treatment, and enjoy the creativity involved in developing individualized treatment plans that blend psychotherapy with expressive and play therapy. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hiram College and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron. As a former teacher and current child therapist, I am competent in school-based mental health needs as well as typical and atypical developmental hurdles. I have two kids of my own, and I firmly believe in approaching children and their caregivers with empathy and positive regard in an effort to understand each unique situation. I am passionate about early intervention and enjoy the privilege of working with families to foster more flexible and resilient mindsets.
